Pennsylvania data

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of midnight, May 14, that there are 938 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 59,636.

The state is reporting 4,218 total deaths, an increase from the 3,943 total deaths last reported.

There were 44 new deaths reported overnight; the remaining 231 were reported as a result of a reconciliation of data over the past several weeks.

This means the department added 275 total deaths to the data.

The southeast region of the state, which includes Delaware, Philadelphia, Montgomery, Bucks and Chester Counties, had seen a decline in new cases earlier in May.

That has now reversed and new cases are rising again, according to an epicurve chart by region.

The southeast has the highest number of positive confirmed cases in the state, at 38,422.  The next highest number of cases in the state is in the northeast, reporting 11,630 cases.
