A Haverford and Springfield teen will be on a 10-week “Big Top” tour with the nonprofit Circus Smirkus, an international youth circus, writes Mari A. Schaefer for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Haverford’s Naomi Eddy, 18, and Springfield’s Scott Raison, 16, will do 70 shows. As clowns, they’ll juggle, unicycle, tumble and fly through the air.

Both competed against about 100 performers for a shot at the Big Top.

“It’s the most intense summer camp in America,” said Raison.

Eddy, a Haverford High senior, is naturally flexible, drawn to mixed martial arts and a contortions program.

Circus has been her passion since.
