The 'Kelce' documentary reached No. 1 on Amazon Prime Video within hours of its release. The filmmakers were also there when Jason Kelce announced his retirement.

Don Argott and Sheena Joyce, the filmmakers who made Jason Kelce’s documentary “Kelce” were invited to film his official retirement and cover his related activities, writes Rosa Cartagena for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The two were there the day of his announcement and the day before as he jumped onto a burning table in Havertown, mimicking a Buffalo Bills fan tradition.

Argott stayed with Kelce on the day of the announcement while Joyce was with one of the Kelce daughters at the doctor’s. A secretary was live-streaming the event and sobbing.

“In a way, we’ve kind of been making the Jason Kelce retirement documentary all along. I don’t know where we’re all going to end up with this [footage], but we’re honored and really feel privileged to be included in his life like this,” said Joyce, an Eagles fan with Delaware County roots.

Argott said it was a heavy and emotional day filming because of how much Kelce means to his fans and the city.

Now, Kelce has a chance to explore where his life will go.

“We’re here for the ride, and we’ll be on it as long as they’ll have us,” said Argott.
