The Actor’s Co-op in Swarthmore opened in the fall and it’s a gathering place for local actors and filmmakers, writes Peg DeGrassa for the Daily Times.

The Co-op on Park Avenue was created by co-owners Pete Postiglione of Springfield and Val McAdoo of Wallingford, based on a shared vision.

Both have been in films, television shows and commercials but realized the benefits of having a centralized space where actors and filmmakers could collaborate.

“In this area, there was a real need for collaborative space and there’s an incredible amount of talent here,” explained Postigione. “We wanted to offer a space that would create an ideal partnership between actors and filmmakers.”

The Co-op caters specifically to children and adults who want to improve acting skills for commercials and films.

Classes for all ages cover auditioning, getting started in the industry for the novice actor, and resume and casting site profile guidance.

McAdoo and Postiglione just finished shooting the film “What Do I Do Now,” set for release later this year. He produced; she acted. The pair also worked together on Joshua Coates’ film, “Hollywould.”

Postiglione has been a professional actor for 20 years.
