Delaware County Tops 18,000 COVID-19 Cases Since Its First Reported Case Feb. 28

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported a total of 18,172 cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County as of Saturday, Nov. 21.

On Friday, the Chester County Health Department reported 17,756 total Delaware County cases.

The county also had 838 total COVID-19-related deaths as of Friday, according to the Chester County Health Department.  

Of those new cases, 634 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Nov. 22, that between Friday and Sunday there were 13,853 new cases of COVID-19 across the state, bringing the statewide total to 309,639.

In that same period, there were 261 deaths reported statewide for
a total of 9,842.
