Anne Shuster of Havertown, 90, has participated in the annual Senior Games for the past 29 years. Now she’s retiring and moving from the area, writes Peg DeGrassa for the Daily Times.

This summer, the gold medal winning nonagenarian went out on top, participating in horseshoes, billiards, shuffleboard, five swimming events and nine Track and Field events. She earned 15 gold medals and one silver this year alone.

The elder athlete has garnered over 350 medals from Delaware County, Philadelphia, and State Senior Games.

She arrived at the Winner’s Circle Reception July 16 with two suitcases full of medals and ribbons she has won.

The event at the Drexelbrook Corporate Events Center culminates the 2019 Delaware County Senior Games, held June 10 to 21 at 12 separate venues across the county.

More than 400 athletes, ages 50-103, turned out to celebrate performances from a record 680 participants.

“I have a good time every year,” Shuster commented. “I meet lovely people and that’s what I treasure the most.”

The Delaware County Senior Games are sponsored by Delaware County Council, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Destination Delco, and the County of Delaware Services for the Aging (COSA).
