Six Pennsylvania’s universities found themselves in the top 100 national rankings from U.S. News & World Report’s annual report, writes Kim Strong for the York Daily Record. All of the schools tied with other schools in the nation.

University of Pennsylvania ranked No. 8.  U.S. News.noted the success of its graduate programs like the Wharton School and its heavy participation in international study programs.

Carnegie Mellon University ranked No. 25. U.S. News noted the school is known for its science and technology programs as well as its fine arts and social science colleges.

Villanova University ranked No. 49. U.S. News.noted that Villanova has 260 student-run organizations and the host of the largest student-run Special Olympics event in the world.

Lehigh University ranked No.53. U.S. News noted several successful alumni come from this university.

Pennsylvania State University at University Park ranked No. 59.  U.S. News noted its highly ranked graduates programs in the College of Education and College of Engineering.

University of Pittsburgh ranked No. 70. U.S. News noted its highly ranked Schools of Medicine, Education and the Swanson School of Engineering, as well as a number of successful alumni from the school
