The first medical marijuana dispensary in Delaware County will officially open its doors on Monday at 409 Baltimore Pike in Morton, writes Barbara Ormsby for the Daily Times.

Herbology representatives were present at a public meeting last week at borough hall to answer questions from borough officials and residents on dispensary operations and the various products that will be available.

Jordan Brown, Herbology operations manager; Sarah Locklund, manager of outreach education; and Mahja Sulemanjee, director of community outreach, were the speakers at the panel.

Locklund said that patients who are certified to receive medical marijuana can get a $50 ID card. This card can be used to obtain medical marijuana from an approved dispensary under the jurisdiction of the state’s Department of Health.

Medical marijuana is available as tinctures, topicals, concentrates, and vaporizers, she said.

“You start with the smallest amount possible, and if you find you need more, you can take more,” said Locklund. “There is no overdose danger.”

Most questions from the 45 people at the public meeting focused on security.

“We are being held to have very robust security systems,” said Brown.
