A 48-year tradition returns Memorial Day weekend when the annual Antiques Show opens at the Brandywine River Museum.

Fine antiques, including furniture, rugs, porcelain, needlework and much more will be on sale and on display by 26 dealers from the mid-Atlantic and beyond.

Proceeds from this fundraising event benefit the Museum Volunteers’ Purchase Fund and Art Education and Programming.

The Antiques Show runs Saturday, May 25, through Monday, May 27, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.,  Admission is $20, free for museum members.

A Preview Party Friday evening, May 24, 6 to 9, offers a first look at the objects and furniture displayed in the Museum and outdoor courtyard.  Tickets are $125 per member and $150 per non-member and include valet parking, open bar and hors d’ oeuvres.

On Saturday, May 25, the Antiques Show Breakfast and Lecture features Douglas Allen—artist, collector and author—speaking about assembling his collection of N. C. Wyeth ephemera over seven decades.

A portion of his collection will be on display at the Brandywine through Sept. 8. Museum doors will open at 8:45 a.m.

The presentation begins 9:30 a.m. following a continental breakfast in the Millstone Cafe at 9 a.m. Cost, including Antiques Show admission, is $30 per person.

On Sunday, May 26 and Monday, May 27, 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., a selection of 30-minute booth talks will be given by the expert dealers. Cost to attend these lectures is FREE with Antiques Show admission.

Music and cash bar will be offered Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. for Show visitors.

The museum is located at 1 Hoffman’s Mill Road in Chadds Ford.
