A new interactive map by the Hamilton Project at the Brookings Institution shows that both Chester and Delaware counties are among the most prosperous places to live in Pennsylvania, writes John Micek for the Pennsylvania Capital-Star.

The goal of the map is to show that, while the nation seems to have recovered from the Great Recession, not all of the country has received an equal share in the return to prosperity.

The map shows how prosperity varies across the country at the county level. Counties were ranked by a Prosperity Index that combines factors such as a county’s median household income, poverty rate, unemployment rate, prime-age employment rate, life expectancy, and housing vacancy rate.

Chester County tops the list of the most prosperous counties in Pennsylvania, while Delaware County checked in at No. 7.

The least prosperous county in the state is Forest County.
