TRIO-SSS Program Coordinator/Academic Counselor

This position counsels and supports the postsecondary success of low-income and first-generation students, as well as students with disabilities; facilitates the setting of educational, personal, and career goals and objectives; and provides academic advising regarding majors, admission, and progression.

The ideal candidate will possess a working knowledge of TRIO policies and procedures as updated by the government and entities of higher education; tutoring and supervisory skills and experience; and an appreciation for and congruence with the Catholic Franciscan mission of the university.

Academic Coach

This position provides exceptional academic coaching; attains performance goals associated with new, continuing, and returning students; creates an intensive outreach strategy for all assigned students, including meetings, phone calls, and e-mails; and assists students with online and in-class courses.

The ideal candidate will possess a master’s degree in education, psychology, science, math, or a related discipline; one to three years of education-related work experience; demonstrated experience in teaching/tutoring; and knowledge of APA format, online research, and basic math.

Professional Writing Tutor

This position works with undergraduate and graduate students through all stages of the writing process in both one-on-one and small group settings; hosts in-class and online presentations and workshops; and assists in the creation of print and online Writing Center resources.

The ideal candidate will possess a master’s degree in English, writing studies, or a related discipline; experience teaching or tutoring in a university setting; strong writing and interpersonal communication skills; expertise in APA or MLA format; and experience working with diverse student populations.
