First Conference for High School Girls, April 6th

The first Girls Spark conference for girls is now free to any high school student who wants to find their inner spark to Ignite, Overcome, and Inspire!

Julia Kasper, Penncrest High School Junior, is forging a path for young girls who want a forum of their own to address important issues they face in today’s social environment.  Girls Spark is the first conference for girls being developed by girls, and guided by professional female mentors in the business community.

The planning team consists of 8 high school girls with a desire to create a setting that will ignite the passion of young girls to feel confident in their surroundings as well as within, and overcome challenges in positive ways that will inspire them.

This event is becoming the fastest ticket for local businesses to show their support, that contributions have already exceeded expectations enabling this event to become free to high school girls who want to attend.   So sign up now!

The following breakout sessions will be led by subject matter experts in their fields to guide a meaningful presentation and discussion among girls who want to develop an inner strength when preparing to face the world as young professionals.

Girls Spark Topics include:

  • Body Image & Self Confidence
  • Mental Health – Anxiety & Depression
  • Street Smarts “Defend Yourself”
  • The Importance of Speaking up
  • Sexuality “The Talk”
  • Transition to College/Life after high school

This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Delaware County Women’s Commission who will accept sponsorships for this event and is a tax-deductible contribution.  All proceeds will support programs against Domestic Abuse.

Presenters of breakout sessions will include inspirational women in our community as well as subject matter experts.  Keynote speaker will be Melissa Maani, Manager of Graphic Design for the Philadelphia Phillies who will share her personal and professional journey.

Closing comments by Rhonda Kinard, Best Selling Author, Self & Life Care Coach, Trainer, Founder of ‘A Life Ignited’ who will share an inspiring life lesson.
