Interest is running high among Republicans hoping to get their chance to vie for a number of county-level offices, writes Kathleen Carey for the Daily Times.

Last week, around 150 members of the Delaware County Republican Party gathered at Springfield Country Club to hear from those interested in running.

“We had an open forum that gave each individual candidate the opportunity to make their case to our committee people and municipal leaders about why they believe they are the best candidate,” said Tom McGarrigle, the new county GOP Chairman.

After being appointed last year, Delaware County District Attorney Katayoun Copeland is now seeking a full four-year term.

Four Republicans have also expressed interest in vying for four Common Pleas Court seats, while six are looking to fill the three available spots on Delaware County Council.
