Eagles quarterback Nick Foles, who led the team to its first Super Bowl championship last year after taking over for the injured Carson Wentz, has again shown that he has the qualities of a great leader, writes Justin Bariso for Inc. magazine.

In their recent playoff loss to the heavily favored New Orleans Saints, the Eagles were marching down the field with an opportunity to win in the game’s waning minutes. Foles threw a pass to wide receiver Alshon Jeffery, but the ball sailed through his hands and into the grasp of a Saints defender, thus sealing the game.

Devastated by his mistake, Jeffery dropped to the ground, where Foles immediately approached him, and used just the right words to console him.

Foles “told me he loved playing with me, and we wouldn’t have won a Super Bowl without me,” said Jeffery.

The scene was proof that Foles knows how to lead the team in both good times and bad.
