Delaware County is home to 11 of the state’s Top 100 highest-scoring elementary schools on the third-grade PSSA (Pennsylvania System of School Assessment) exams, writes Ethan Lott for The Philadelphia Business Journal.

The PSSAs are taken by students in grades three through eight, whereas students in high school take the Keystone Exams. The Pittsburgh Business Times used the results recently released by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to create the list of the Top 100 highest-scoring elementary schools on the third-grade exam for the 2017-18 school year.

Rose Tree Elementary checked in at No. 24, while Swarthmore-Rutledge School at No. 26 and Russell and Worrall elementary schools – at Nos. 28 and 30, respectively – in the Marple Newtown School District also made the Top 30.

The following elementary schools, with their school district in parentheses, made the state’s Top 100:

  • Wayne Elementary (Radnor)
  • Chatham Park Elementary (Haverford)
  • Coopertown Elementary (Haverford)
  • Media Elementary (Rose Tree Media)
  • Wallingford Elementary (Wallingford-Swarthmore)
  • Sabold Elementary (Springfield)
  • Ithan Elementary (Radnor)
