After singlehandedly manning the Yeadon Post Office for more than three decades, Jim Gray decided it was time to retire, writes Kevin Tustin for the Delaware County News Network.

Gray, 63, turned in his keys at the end of November. He’ll be missed by many who admired his patience and impeccable customer service.

“He’s quality,” said Phil Bonner, who has been bringing his mail to the Yeadon Post Office from his home in Southwest Philadelphia just to see Gray.

Gray, who has been with USPS for a total of 38 years, admits that he is not tired of his job, but he was just ready to retire.

For decades, he also helped with local youth sports organizations and volunteered at the St. Cyril of Alexandria Church in East Lansdowne.
