Susie Cirilli and Bill Sprague.

The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce is hosting an educational seminar entitled “Pro Tips: What’s the Risk?” on Wednesday, Dec. 12 from 8-10 AM.

The chamber is located at 1001 Baltimore Pike, Suite. 9LL, in Springfield.

Business owners pour limitless time, effort, and resources into building a successful business. There is inherent risk in owning a business that can be mitigated through sound contracts, counsel, and risk transfer.

Bill Sprague, owner of Risk Averse Insurance, and Susie Cirilli, an attorney with Litchfield Cavo LLP, will discuss ways for businesses to protect what they’ve worked so hard to build.

Sprague and his team work with business owners to build personalized insurance portfolios that provide protection for businesses and the individuals who own them. Sprague assists companies throughout the life cycle of the business and ensures that they are well protected from the common risks associated with being in business.

Cirilli counsels employers on best practices with respect to hiring, terminations, harassment, and other employment issues. Cirilli also defends employers in litigation involving a wide variety of employment issues. She will discuss the steps companies can take to ensure that not only is the business and bottom line protected, but the employees as well.

“Small business makes up a large majority of the economy in Delaware County,” said Trish McFarland, President of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce. “We want to make sure our small business owners have the resources they need to make informed decisions that keep their business operating efficiently and effectively.”
