After receiving four more permits for marijuana dispensaries in the latest round of approvals by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Green Thumb Industries is planning to begin its southeastern Pennsylvania expansion in Chadds Ford, writes Sam Wood for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The Chadds Ford dispensary, branded Rise Dispensaries, is expected to open its doors in around six months.

Ben Kovler, founder and CEO of Chicago-based GTI, said this is the first of 12 dispensaries for the mammoth chain, as it prepares to add to the four it already operates in the Keystone State. However, he said there is no secret to the company’s success in gaining approvals for more locations.

“We do what we say we’re going to do,” said Kovler. “We read the rules, we roll up our sleeves, and do the work. There’s not anything that’s hard to plan for, but it can be very hard to execute.”

This round of permit approvals favored several other Big Marijuana companies. In addition to GTI, PharmaCann and Harvest have also recently strengthened their hold on cannabis operations in Pennsylvania.
