Check Out These Unusual College Scholarships Available to Students

Among the scholarships available to students who are looking for help with their college tuition, there are a number of unusual options, writes Jessica Dickler for CNBC.

One of them is the Stuck at Prom Scholarship Contest, which awards $10,000 to students who create the best prom dress or tux from Duck Brand tape and/or crafting tape.

DoSomething.org has “easy scholarships” of $5,000 available to students who volunteer for various community service projects.

Tall Club Scholarships awards up to $1,000 to male and female students who are at least 6-foot-2 and 5-foot-10, respectively.

For the Love of Chocolate Foundation provides scholarships to pursue specialized training in pastry arts, while the United Federation of Doll Clubs awards four $1,000 scholarships to promote the research and appreciation of dolls.

Also, American Fire Sprinkler Association Scholarships of $2,000 each are designed to educate the public on automatic fire sprinklers.
