Penn State has been named one of the 2018 “Best of the Best” LGBTQ-Friendly Colleges and Universities by Campus Pride, writes Michelle Lin for The Underground.

The Campus Pride Index is an indicator of the school’s commitment to LGBTQ-inclusive policy, program, and practice. It awarded Penn State five out of five stars.

“Our students share so much of themselves as they work with us and challenge us to make Penn State stronger,” said Brian Patchcoski, director of Penn State’s LGBTQA Student Resource Center.

He said that the honor recognizes the students and “their desire for Penn State to innovate and grow its understanding of diversity and inclusion.”
