These Delaware County Educators Among Top Teachers Around the Main Line, Western Suburbs

Four exceptional educators in Delaware County who go above and beyond for their students are among the best teachers in the region, writes Lisa Dukart for Main Line Today.

To compile its list of 2018 Top Teachers Around the Main Line and Western Suburbs, Main Line Today asked readers for nominations and selected 15.

Darcy (Schneider) DiGiacomo, an eighth-grade teacher at Radnor Middle School, ensures that she is a model for her students by making her own learning a priority.

“I really try to jump at any chance I can get to learn something new,” she said.

Matt Memmo, Computer Science and Engineering Department Chair at The Episcopal Academy, works with his students on independent studies on everything from artificial intelligence to application design.

Sally Gallagher teaches social studies at the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur. She brings the real world into her classroom by incorporating current issues of global concern.

Cheryl Joloza, a fourth- and fifth-grade science teacher at The Haverford School, makes real-world connections in the classroom, and also works with the school’s robotics program.
