Delaware County Community College will present a panel, “Examining the Similarities: Project 2025 and the 1619 Project” on Monday, Sept. 30 at the College’s Marple Campus (901 South Media Line Road, Media).
The panelists will be:
- Francis Atuahene, Ph.D., Professor and Chair, Public Policy and Administration at West Chester University: Atuahene’s research focuses on public policy related to college student success and retention, reflecting his dedication to enhancing educational outcomes and student achievement. He holds a doctorate in Higher Education Administration and Policy, a master’s in International Affairs, and a master’s Public Administration, all from Ohio University.
- Brenda Sanders Dédé, Ed.D., Emeritus Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at Clarion University and Proposal Reviewer for the U.S. Department of Education: Dédé is a member of the National Faculty Policy Review Project sponsored by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities. She received her doctorate in Higher Education Administration from Texas Southern University.
- Jennifer Padilla Wyse, Ph.D. Associate Professor of Sociology at Widener University: Wyse earned her doctorate in Sociology and Africana Studies from Virginia Tech. Her areas of research include the intersection of the sociology of race and the sociology of knowledge. Her research publications are featured in the Sociology of Race and Ethnicity, the Ashgate Research Companion to Black Sociology, and the Journal of Historical Sociology.
The event will take place from 11:15 AM-12:10 PM in the Large Auditorium, Room 2225, in the Academic Building. It is sponsored by DCCC’s Business, Computing & Social Science division and its Black and Latino Male Empowerment Initiative. It is free and open to the public.
