For the ninth consecutive year, The Chronicle of Higher Education has recognized Delaware County Community College as a Great College to Work For.

The results were released as part of The Chronicle’s 11th annual report on the Academic Workplace, for which more than 53,000 employees from 253 institutions around the country were surveyed.

Delaware County Community College is one of 84 colleges selected as a Great College to Work For.

“Colleges and universities that receive the Great College to Work For designation tend to have more satisfied employees, and we believe that satisfied employees are more caring and conscientious in helping our students achieve their academic and training goals,” said Delaware County Community College President Dr. L. Joy Gates Black.

“No other college or university in Greater Philadelphia has earned this distinction for nine consecutive years, which is a testament to the family-friendly work environment at the college.”

This year, the college was recognized in the following categories:

  • Compensation & Benefits
  • Facilities, Workspace & Security
  • Teaching Environment (faculty only)

Great Colleges to Work For is one of the largest and most-respected higher education workplace recognition programs in the country. Administered by ModernThink LLC, the survey featured two components: a questionnaire on institutional characteristics and a faculty and staff questionnaire about individual evaluations of the institution.

The process also included an analysis of demographic data and workplace policies, including benefits.
