Delaware County is home to five of the region’s best small companies to work for, write Clara Lefton and Craig Ey for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Each year, the Philadelphia Business Journal partners with Quantum Workplace to find the very best workplaces in the region. The program differs from other similar awards due to its scientific approach that uses employee engagement surveys to assess the companies.

The survey has been developed by experts in survey research methodology and organizational psychology and is regularly updated.

This year saw a record number of applications, with each company required to achieve a difficult statistical benchmark to be eligible for inclusion.

The list is divided into four categories based on a company’s size. The Small Companies category covers businesses with between 10 and 49 employees.

The list includes the following Delaware County-based companies:

• Backe (Radnor)
• Eigen X (Radnor)
• Results Repeat (Media)
• Vista Underwriting Partners (Media)
• Benepath (Newtown Square)
