The Nebula Gallery in Chester unveiled its “Art Is Home” collection, a 150-piece collection that is the result of a first-of-its-kind collaboration to place art in public housing, writes Colin Ainsworth for the Daily Times.

All artwork from the collection will be donated to families that are moving into Chester Housing Authority units.

“I think everybody loved the concept,” said John Bush, owner of the Nebula Gallery. “We’re really proud to be working with the housing authority.”

Part of the collection was created by students from the Chester Charter School for the Arts who donated their time and talent over the winter. The project provided students with the opportunity to expand their portfolio, and will hopefully foster creativity in the youngsters of the families receiving the art.

“The presence of art can be an inspiration to a child in development,” said CHA Director Steven Fischer.

Families will receive two pieces of art from the collection, with the first donations already in some homes.
