Comedian Troy David Hendrickson became Delaware County’s newest social media sensation when he donned a wig and some fake eyelashes to turn into Eagles superfan Aunt Mary Pat DiSabatino after the Super Bowl, writes Peg DeGrassa for the Delaware County News Network.

The video was based on his own mother, an avid Eagles fan, whom he called after the big game to share the excitement. She was already searching for Super Bowl attire when she received the call.

“You have to know my mom to appreciate my Aunt Mary Pat character,” said Hendrickson. “My mother is unintentionally funny.”

Hendrickson, who lives in Wilmington, never dreamed that his short video would go viral. It gained more than 30,000 Facebook followers and 6,000 Instagram followers in less than two months.

Now, live performances by Aunt Mary Pat DiSabatino, including a recent one at Della Polla’s Italian Cucina Family Tavern in Folsom, sell out quickly. He has also been inundated with offers and opportunities, including commercials and hosting gigs.

“I cannot believe how much people love Aunt Mary Pat,” said Hendrickson. “My year is definitely turning out differently than I thought.”
