Wawa is looking to add 5,000 full- and part-time jobs over the next three months, writes Sam Wood for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The beloved convenience-store chain operates 790 stores in six states, and they are all looking for new employees.

Wawa plans to open 25 new stores in the Mid-Atlantic market, the first of which is planned for Philadelphia in April. It’s also renovating 75 older outlets. Each of the new stores will create between 35 and 40 new positions.

According to Elizabeth Moore, Wawa’s manager of talent acquisition, the chain is looking for people with a strong passion to serve others.

“We’re looking for individuals who want to join our team for the busy summer season, as well as those who might be interested in the start of a fulfilling career,” she said.

Several Wawa stores are taking part in the chain’s open house program – “Wawa Career Wednesdays” – that will run from March 28 to April 18.

Anyone interested should apply online before attending. During the event, managers will hold brief initial interviews with applicants.
