Western Delaware County Residents to Have Direct Bus Connection to New York City

By

Starting today, Western Delaware County residents will have a direct bus connection from West Chester to the Big Apple, writes Bill Rettew Jr. for the Daily Local News.

OurBus, which does not operate any buses, will work with independent bus companies to start a twice-a-day, seven-day-a-week service from the corner of Chestnut and High streets in West Chester. The bus will make several stops in Chester County, then will travel non-stop to New York City.

Among the amenities available in the buses is onboard Wi-Fi with pre-loaded movies, a restroom, reclining seats, charging ports, and free bottles of water. OurBus also offers technology that allows riders to track arrival and departure times.

Tickets will be sold online and through the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The first month of service will offer one-way trips for $10 each way. Afterward, the tickets will vary in price, but will typically cost around $25 each way.

“We’re filling a much-needed gap for people who want to travel to New York City,” said Katherine Kadar, head of communications for OurBus.
