Who let the dogs out?

Come Oct. 22, you can blame the Philadelphia Union. Its pet-friendly “Paws on the Pitch” night will welcome dogs to Talen Energy Stadium if their owners purchase a special ticket package — and bring vaccination records, according to a Philadelphia Business Journal report by John George.

The special event involves marketing partner Doggie Style Pets, the nine-location Philadelphia pet shop.

That night, the Union will unleash its talent against Orlando City SC. If the team fares well, fans could also score an up-to-15-percent-off promotional discount to their local Doggie Style Pets store. And regardless of how well the Union perform, the sponsor will spring for free bandanas and goodie bags for each set of paws.

Dogs under 30 pounds can enjoy Major League Soccer action from their owner’s lap for an extra $10, while heavier dogs will have to put down $20 plus the price of the adjacent seat they will occupy.
