Victus Sports Helps Phillies Deliver Heartfelt Tribute at Citizens Bank Park

Victus Sports and the Phillies teamed up with HEADstrong to honor 8-year-old Lincoln Hanson, bringing custom gear and hope to the ballpark.

King of Prussia’s Victus Sports helped create a special moment at Citizens Bank Park this past weekend, writes Joe Brandt for CBS News.

The bat maker partnered with the HEADstrong Foundation to organize a meet-and-greet between Phillies players and a young fan battling cancer.

Eight-year-old Lincoln Hanson joined the team during batting practice, where he met relief pitcher Matt Strahm and outfielder Brandon Marsh. Lincoln, dressed in a Strahm jersey, even signed a trading card for the lefty pitcher, who returned the gesture by autographing one of his own.

Strahm went further by presenting Lincoln with a custom set of lime green gear, including a Victus bat and glove, plus cleats inscribed with Lincoln’s name. Both Strahm and Marsh wore the green equipment, signed by Lincoln, during the game. The Phillies went on to an 8–2 victory over the Kansas City Royals.

The lime green color is the trademark of the HEADstrong Foundation, which supports families facing cancer and operates Nick’s House in Swarthmore for those undergoing treatment at nearby hospitals.

The Phillies’ tribute continues as Strahm and Marsh wear the green again for Nemours Children’s Health Childhood Cancer Awareness Night.
