Words of wisdom from a financial mogul, former New York City mayor, and billionaire philanthropist will send off Villanova’s Class of 2017.

Renowned American leader Michael Bloomberg will be Villanova’s commencement speaker next month, according to a Philadelphia Business Journal report by Michelle Caffrey.

In addition to delivering what’s sure to be a high-profile speech in Villanova Stadium on May 19, Bloomberg will also be on the receiving end of a special award. The college will bestow upon him an honorary doctoral degree in humane letters.

Also to receive an honorary degree is Villanova graduate and JBK Partners co-founder Anne Welsh McNulty, whose $5 million donation established the university’s women’s leadership institute.

The May 19 commencement ceremony will begin at 4 PM.
