SAP is only freshly listed on the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For list, but the software company with its North American headquarters located in Newtown Square is intent on climbing from 59th to No. 1 — and fast.
SAP recently celebrated that accolade with its kickoff of a 150-city tour through the United States and Canada aimed at broadening horizons about the future of business, according to a Daily Times report by Kathleen Carey.
The traveling Business Reimagined Tour is exposing people to virtual reality, augmented reality, drones, the Internet of Things, and more through interactive displays and technology like its robotic mascot Pepper, whose dancing and selfie-taking apps are powered by SAP.
“This is just trying to get the juices flowing about what the art of the possible (is), what you can do in these environments,” said Senior Vice President of Marketing Dave Hutchison.
And SAP’s niche is helping turn technology’s endless flow of information into valuable insights.
“Information’s great but not for information’s sake,” Hutchison said. “Information’s great for insight’s sake.
“This is the new SAP. We should be thought of in the same breath as other innovators like Google and Apple. We are primarily a business-to-business company, I get that, but we absolutely are innovating in our own space, and we are the company to partner with to help you transform your business into a digital business.”
