Owning a home is the American dream. But for many consumers, navigating the home-buying and financing process can be a challenge. DNB First, the Delaware Valley’s oldest nationally chartered community bank, is ready to help, with a series of free home-buying seminars.

DNB First will host two upcoming sessions focused on helping first-time home buyers understand the process to owning their piece of the American Dream:

  • Thursday, April 13 from 6-8 PM at Red Clay Room, located at 423 Dalmatian Street in Kennett Square
  • Tuesday, April 18 from 6-8 PM at DiFabio’s Events, located at 400 West Woodland Avenue in Springfield

Seminar topics include:

  • How to obtain a mortgage
  • What to expect during the mortgage process
  • How to put yourself in a better position to qualify for a mortgage

DNB First is a participant in FHLBank Pittsburgh’s First Front Door Program, which provides qualified borrowers, including first-time homebuyers, with grant assistance of up to $5,000 toward closing costs and down payment.

A total of $8 million in assistance was provided in 2016; this year’s funding round opened on March 15, and will close when funds are exhausted. First Front Door funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Eligibility requirements will be discussed, and qualified homebuyers will have the opportunity to apply for a grant through DNB First representatives at the seminar.
