Radnor’s VWR has acquired MESM, the global provider of laboratory and medical equipment and ancillary supplies to clinical trials, as part of its ongoing growth strategy, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

This marks the third deal for VWR this year, and the 11th over the last three years.

“MESM is recognized and valued by many of the world’s largest pharmaceutical customers and contract research organizations, including a number of existing VWR customers who currently procure our clinical trial and biorepository services,” said Manuel Brocke-Benz, president and CEO of VWR.

MESM was founded a decade ago and, in addition to its U.K. headquarters, operates another facility in Florida that provides support to clinical trials in more than 80 countries.

Earlier this year, VWR acquired EPL Archives, which operates biostorage and biorepository facilities, and Seastar Chemicals, a manufacturer of high purity reagents used in global research, laboratory, and microelectronics.
