The Philadelphia Union has spilled the ink on its top prospects for the soccer team’s chief tattoo officer partnership, and 13 names are on the list.

With the second round of cuts, Union executives have narrowed down what began as 150 applicants and will soon interview the best three to five artists or shops, according to a Billy Penn report by Dan Levy.

“(We’re) trying to do it right, so we’re taking longer than we thought, to be honest,” said Vice President of Marketing Doug Vosik. “There is quite a vetting process, but we’re pleasantly surprised by how the community has embraced the idea.”

The finalists include:

• Bone Daddy’s Tattoo
• Omkara Tattoo
• True Hand Society Tattoo
• Art Machine Productions
• Philadelphia Tattoo Collective
• Dave Shoemaker Tattoo
• Myke Chambers
• Davidian Tattoo
• Dan Czar Tattoo
• Kristopher Kolodziej
• Chris Peters Tattoo
• Megan Kovak

The chosen artist will have the opportunity to tailor tattoo work for the Union stars and staff.

“These guys love tattoos,” Vosik said of the Union players. “They want to get more tattoos, but they’re focused on the job. So we thought, ‘Hey, let’s bring a service in.’”
