Widener has been ranked No. 1 on the list of 2017 Top Online MSW Programs published by GraduatePrograms.com, marking the second consecutive year the university has held the top spot.

The list is comprised of 10 programs from across the country, and is based entirely on student feedback, obtained from more than 57,000 student reviews and ratings of more than 1,600 colleges. Widener’s extremely high student satisfaction rating kept the university in the top spot for a second year.

The outlet included a comment from a Widener student in its introduction to the list, which read, “Widener was the best choice I could’ve made for a quality online graduate education.”

Widener’s online Master of Social Work program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. The advanced curriculum weaves trauma and its impact on mental health into all coursework, as the program prepares clinical social workers to deliver culturally competent, evidence-based social work services to individuals, families, and groups from diverse client populations.

“At Widener, we develop social workers whose influences are seen, heard, and known throughout the field and community,” said Paula Silver, Associate Provost for Global Engagement and Dean of the School of Human Service Professions. “We have worked hard to develop this outstanding program, and it is gratifying to earn this top ranking through student satisfaction. Positive student reviews are our highest praise.”
