The culture of Delaware County’s only professional sports franchise is leaving an indelible impression on its biggest fans, and now the Philadelphia Union’s front office wants to help make that impression last even longer — like forever.

Union executives just inked a deal to add a chief tattoo officer to the Chester-based Major League Soccer franchise in order to immortalize the loyalties of staff members, players, and fans, according to a Philadelphia Business Journal report by John George.

“This is an exciting initiative for all of us here at Philadelphia Union, as we look to provide a revolutionary service for our players and front office, particularly those new to the area,” said Vice President of Marketing Doug Vosik.

“We are looking for a partner with a wide variety of talents and skills, and someone who can offer a broad range (of tattoos), including American traditional, as well as Japanese, realism, new school, and more.”

The Union’s part-time job of chief tattoo officer is thought to be a first for the MLS, and it fuels the excitement surrounding the Union’s March 5 season opener in Vancouver and March 11 home opener at Talen Energy Stadium against Toronto F.C.
