Despite Instagram’s aggressive attack on Snapchat’s market share through the latest addition of Instagram Stories, some companies, like Newtown Square’s SAP, are instead opting for Snapchat, writes Melody Hahm for Yahoo! Finance.

Jennifer Morgan, president of SAP’s North American division, has adopted the application, replacing town-hall-style meetings with easy-to-create, two-minute video updates and inviting her employees to continue the conversation over Snapchat.

Opening the door into corporate communications could represent a gold mine for Snapchat. Even though Morgan is not part of its core user demographic of under-25-year-olds, her adoption of the app is now bringing in older users.

“People who were already on the app added me right away,” she said. “But others have been creating accounts, like me, now. A lot of folks are increasingly curious about Snapchat, especially because they know their kids are on it.”

Morgan added that despite the fact that she already had an Instagram account, she decided on Snapchat as a casual tool to communicate with coworkers. The application was a venture into a completely new way of communicating, both formally and informally.

“It’s fun to try new things,” she said.
