The VWR Foundation, based in Radnor, awarded more than $115,000 in grants to 13 recipients during its October meeting.

The foundation, dedicated to giving back to the science community, supports organizations and programs that align with its three main, strategic priorities of research, health and well-being, and science education.

One of the recipients is Norwich (Conn.) Technical High School, which provides a unique, first-class, and rigorous learning environment for high school students and adult learners. The funds will go to its Small World Initiative program, which provides an undergrad and high school curriculum that focuses on dealing with the growing problem of antibiotic resistance.

Other grant recipients include the Bucks County Audubon Society from New Hope, Millcreek Education Foundation from Erie, and YMIC Foundation from West Chester.

“After having success in implementing innovative science curriculums at nearly 150 colleges and universities, we saw an opportunity to impact high schools and reach students before they have lost interest in science,” said Erika Kurt, SWI President and CEO. “The VWR Foundation has made it possible to bring our program to Norwich Technical High School and impact students year after year.”
