Dr. Sandra Cornelius, Elwyn’s president, announced last week her plans for a June 2017 retirement, according to a Delaware County News Network staff report.

Cornelius loved her work in Middletown Township so much that she stayed at Elwyn until age 74, serving a total of 26 years in her position.

“I love it here,” she said. “The staff is fantastic. You only have to walk out my office door to know why Elwyn is important to consumers.”

The Elwyn Board of Directors has formed a search committee, and retained an executive search consultant to help find Cornelius’s replacement. The organization’s 2,700 employees care for 13,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities and behavioral health challenges across four states.
