Swarthmore College was his ticket to America 25 years ago, and now Gennady Podolsky makes a living doing just about anything to get clients where they want to go.

The multilingual Russian travel mogul went on from that 1992 visa to study at Swarthmore College to become a self-made expert in digging up low-cost airfare and problem-solving complex travel problems, according to a Wired magazine report by Zoe Mendelson.

“Usually if there’s a solution, I’ll find it,” Podolsky said. “Transportation is the system of arteries that holds the world together. It’s just very exciting.”

Podolsky started his first business fresh out of Swarthmore and now operates from Chicago.
