The U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard has ranked the nation’s colleges and universities by the median salary earned by alumni – who received financial aid – 10 years after they first began taking classes at the school.

Here’s how Delaware County’s institutions of higher learning stack up:

  • Villanova University – $73,900
  • Haverford College – $56,600
  • Widener University – $52,900
  • Swarthmore College – $48,500
  • Rosemont College – $47,800
  • Penn State Brandywine – $47,700
  • Eastern University – $41,300
  • Cabrini University – $40,900
  • Valley Forge Military College (Wayne) – $40,500
  • Neumann University – $39,500
  • Delaware County Community College – $34,600
  • Pennsylvania Institute of Technology (Media) – $33,400
  • Cheyney University – $29,500
  • Brightwood Career Institute (Broomall) – $29,300

The national average is approximately $34,600.All of Penn State’s campuses – main and branches – were lumped together in the study.
