Her recent crowning as the 2016 Miss Cheyney University is likely to become just a snapshot of the attention that junior Anitra Jackson will soon experience.

The three-sport queen chasing down two Cheyney degrees in three years has also been named an all-star by the White House Initiative for Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Cheyney’s aspiring NASA computer engineer from Boothwyn will spend the next year serving as her state’s only official ambassador for HBCUs and the value of education and networking.

“We’re looking forward to working with this new class of HBCU All-Stars,” Acting Executive Director Kim Hunter Reed said in a report for The Philadelphia Tribune by Wilford Shamlin III. “Our goal is to provide a unique opportunity for these talented students that exposes them to critical national conversations and thought leaders. No doubt they will make their mark and represent their campuses well.”
