To investors looking for growth out of VWR, the Radnor-based distributor of research lab consumables passed the test with flying colors.

VWR posted a 6.3 percent hike in net sales over the year that ended June 30, along with an 8.3 percent increase in gross profit and a 128.4 percent leap in net income, according to a B2B E-Commerce report by Paul Demery.

VWR experienced that growth with strong sales to pharmaceutical and biotech companies in every global division, much of it credited to its e-commerce websites. The firm also distributes to education, government and industrial researchers.

“Our second quarter financial results demonstrate the robust nature of our business model and our ability to generate solid top and bottom line results,” President and CEO Manuel Brocke-Benz said. “… As we move forward, we will continue to strengthen our platform of supply-chain excellence, delivering innovative, customized solutions that eliminate our customers’ pain points, enabling them to be more productive and efficient.”

The upward trajectory of VWR has taken it to No. 86 on the B2B E-Commerce 300 rankings.
