The Academy of International Ballet in Media has entered into a creative partnership with the Main Line Art Center in Haverford.

The new partnership offers faculty, students, guest artists, and visitors to AIB a unique opportunity to view original paintings created by regional artists that focus on the images from the world of ballet.

Each painting on exhibit will offer the guest artist high visibility in a dedicated location within a classical ballet academy to share their vision of classical ballet and to promote the fusion of visual and performing arts.

“With the support of Main Line Art Center, we will now offer an ongoing exhibit program that will allow us to link the past with the present and future through a never-ending display of what we value as precious and important,” said AIB Artistic Director Anastasia Babayeva.

“We believe ballet academies should be open to exhibit and promote art work that is focused on and promotes the enduring beauty of ballet. Each work on exhibit adds value and inspiration to every visitor to our academy, to the artist on display and to the traditions of ballet.”

The MLAC is an anchor, cultural institution in Delaware County where people can discover, create, and experience visual art. A frequent recipient of Best of Awards for its beautiful galleries and high-quality art instruction, the Center’s visual art classes and contemporary and innovative exhibitions stimulate creativity, conversation, and joy.

On exhibit until September 1 is a pastel entitled “Pointe Shoes” by regionally recognized artist Stephanie Steiner Nicholson. Nicholson is a portrait painter who specializes in pastels.
