Publications Producer and Designer

This position is responsible for working collaboratively with the communications staff, internal clients, and external vendors to design and produce print publications. The Producer/Designer will also serve as the secondary point of contact for inquiries about the college’s visual identity. To be effective, this person will have to be proactive in cultivating positive relationships and partnerships throughout campus and with vendors. Responsibilities generally fall into graphic design and production.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, or a related field. He/she should have a minimum of five years of experience that includes hands-on graphic design, as well as print production management, preferably in a higher education or nonprofit environment. He/she should have comprehensive knowledge of print production and fulfillment, including experience working with variable data in design and production.

Instrument Specialist, Department of Biology

This position will provide routine maintenance, troubleshooting, minor repairs, and training in the safe usage of departmental instrumentation and equipment. He/she will also serve as a liaison between the department and other service departments within and outside of the college. Specific duties include weekly inspections of the instruments, regular preventative maintenance, and upgrades and repairs.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in the sciences, and have general expertise in electronics and electronic devices. The person will also have general expertise in computers and scientific software, as well as a willingness/eagerness to learn and continue training as appropriate.

Instrument Specialist, Department of Chemistry

This position will provide instructional support, including development of training protocols and training of students in the property use of instruments. Instrumentation responsibilities will include operation, user training, and maintenance of departmental instrumentation, some of which include a high field NMR, LC-MS, and GC-MS. Duties include troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and serving as liaison between the department and other service departments within and outside the college.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree, and have relevant experience in electronics and electronic devices, computers, and scientific software. Experience using analytical instrumentation to answer chemical questions is strongly desired. Candidate will demonstrate willingness to learn and continue training as appropriate, and have the ability to work with students, faculty, and staff.
