2SP Brewing Co. is home to Delaware County’s first original canned beer, writes Peg DeGrassa for the Delaware County News Network.

Founded in August 2015 on Concord Road in Aston by owners Michael Stiglitz and Ben Muse, 2SP had beer on tap available shortly after its opening. However, the owners decided not to start canning its products until the business was firmly out of the startup phase.

That moment turned out to be June 11, when Delco Lager, the creation of brewer Bob Barrar, a Glenolden native, was released in 12-ounce cans.

Beer lovers in the area have really taken to Delco Lager from the get-go, according to Stiglitz. He pointed out that beer drinkers can find the canned Delco Lager in nearly every tavern in town, and most beer distributors in Delaware County also now carry it.

“Our beer quality is high,” Stiglitz added, further describing the Delco Lager as crisp, amber, and flavorful. “What keeps people coming back here is the exceptional taste.

“Our cans really took off right away. We are expanding rapidly, thanks for all of our dedicated customers who appreciate good craft beer.”
