Axalta Coating Systems, a leading global supplier of liquid and powder coatings, recently hosted employees and their children for a day of community engagement, learning, and fun at the company’s North American headquarters in Glen Mills.

The festivities began with a welcome from executives. Participants and children then broke out the toolboxes and participated in a GoBabyGo! workshop, an activity designed to teach the children about Axalta’s dedication to giving back to those in need.

GoBabyGo! is a nonprofit organization that modifies motorized toy cars to be used by special-needs toddlers who have difficulty walking or crawling.

Employees and their children received the story of a specific toddler and the custom plans for his or her car. After completing the car, they met the toddlers who had a chance to test drive the cars, before final adjustments were made.

“At Axalta, we see Take Your Child to Work Day as an opportunity to introduce the children of team members to our company, including exposing them to one of our central principles – giving back to those in need,” said Mike Carr, Axalta President of North America.

“GoBabyGo! provided a way for us to teach kids about the importance of community engagement while creating a fun, memorable experience. And improving the mobility of special-needs toddlers is truly a worthy cause.”
