Wawa to Offer Customers Free Wi-Fi
A partnership with Comcast is enabling Wawa, the Delco-based chain of convenience stores, to offer free Wi-Fi to its customers, writes Nick Vadala of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
According to Vadala, the announcement comes following the release last year of Wawa’s mobile app. The app allows for a rewards points system, food ordering, and payment.
As noted in a recent press release, the company hopes to offer a “consistent in-store experience for its mobile application” through offering free public Wi-Fi.
Employees and vendors, meanwhile, will have access to a private network.
To use free Wi-Fi at Wawa, customers should log in to the “xfinitywifi” SSID on their device’s “available networks” screen when in a store. Guests do not need to be a Comcast customer to use the service. The Wi-Fi will be available at stores outside Comcast’s usual service area.
