Widener University Hosting 2026 Commencement on Chester Campus

Widener University President Stacey Robertson shared a moment with some of the graduates lined up outside at the 2025 commencement.

The Widener University Commencement takes place next week on its Chester campus for 2026 undergraduate and graduate students, as well as one of its two law schools.

A series of six ceremonies will run from Tuesday, May 12, to Thursday, May 14. The full ceremony schedule is:

  • Tuesday, May 12 at 10 AM — School of Business Administration, Interim Dean Kenn Tacchino, and Center for Continuing Studies, Center Executive Director Sharmane Walker.
  • Tuesday, May 12 at 3 PM. – Jack & Nancy Dwyer School of Nursing, Dean Audrey Snyder (doctoral students will be hooded).
  • Wednesday, May 13, at 10 AM – School of Engineering, Dean Pamela McCauley.
  • Wednesday, May 13, at 3 PM – College of Health & Human Services, Dean Robin Dole  (doctoral students will be hooded).
  • Thursday, May 14, at 10 AM – College of Arts & Sciences, Dean Lisa Grimm.
  • Thursday, May 14, at 3 PM – Delaware Law School, Dean Todd Clark.

President Stacey Robertson will speak at the ceremonies, as will leaders of the respective schools and colleges, as noted above. Delaware Law School graduates will also hear from Delaware Supreme Court Justice N. Christopher Griffiths and Delaware Law School valedictorian Kenneth DiFilippo.

All six ceremonies will be livestreamed at widener.edu/WatchCommencement.

There are a total of 1,271 graduates (556 undergraduate students, 488 graduate students, and 227 Delaware Law School students).

This year’s Commencement will see 17 countries represented, including France, Italy, Greece, Nigeria, Peru, Morocco, Belgium, and China.

Twenty-nine states will be represented, including Utah, Maine, Florida, and Arizona.

The youngest graduate is 19 years old; the oldest is 72.

A ceremony for graduates of Widener’s Commonwealth Law School, located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, will be held Sunday, May 17, at 11 AM at The Forum in The Capitol Complex, Harrisburg.

Speakers include Robertson, Commonwealth Law School Dean andré douglas pond cummings, Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday, a 2007 alumnus, and Commonwealth Law School valedictorian Kiera Flannery ’26.
